About Dharamshala

A hill town below the Dhauladhar range, known for Tibetan culture, monasteries, cafés and mountain trails.

Dharamshala is divided into a lower town and the hill area of McLeod Ganj, where most visitors stay. The Dhauladhar peaks rise directly behind the town, and pine forests and quiet trails are close at hand.

The Tibetan community gives the area a distinct character, with monasteries, prayer flags, cafés and handicraft shops. It suits families, couples, trekkers and anyone looking for a slower mountain break.
